Notes:
In my first version, I said that "this external is a bit shaky" in reference to RenameRes. That wasn't clear: this should have read: renaming resources is a bit shaky. It is not the fault of the external that this is so! I have had great luck with all of Kevin Harris's externals and recommend his product to anyone in the market. He also charges a reasonable license fee (IMHO).
System 7 sounds whose name have quotes need to be adjusted before they can be imported correctly in version 1 of ResGenie:
If you have this "beautiful friendship" then change it to this beautiful friendship before importing. This is my fault, because I didn't test for this condition.
Naming resources: Do not use commas within the name of a resource. I extract the resource names from an item list, and the extra comma will cause a problem. This will be corrected as soon as I can afford to use a cell type window external such as Table-It or something similar from Heizer.
